■T.T. Tanaka (たなか)
芦屋市出身。訪問国・州は40ケ所超。7歳の時に父親の影響で撮影することを始めた。人々の日常生活のシーンの中に素晴らしいアート素材が繰り出されてくるとの考えの下, 国内外で活動中。写真集 「ENCOUNTERS」シリーズ出版中。受賞作品アーカイブ集の第一作（2016年）以降, アメリカ・ネブラスカ, グリーンランド, ウクライナ, カリブ海, ラトビア, 台湾, パキスタン, Life Cute and Beautifulいきものたち, までの９巻が既刊。通常の写真集には見られない, 作品を気軽に楽しめる装丁デザインもユニークで注目されてきた。
国内の他, 海外活動も活発で, ウクライナ, ラトビア, パキスタンで個展実施や, パキスタンのTVニュース報道やウクライナのTV番組特集(UATV–15’)などに出演。 アメリカ フロリダ州、ウクライナなどの小学校から大学まで写真で多様性の授業も実施。パキスタンではJICAと連携してスラム街の子供たちの教育現場で写真を使った授業を行った。
東京都 昭島市や、那智勝浦町太田の郷、岡山市内の緩和ケア病棟を含む複数の病院など地域コミュニティーにてスライドショーや、ピアノとコラボしての地域再発見など、写真の可能性に精力的に挑戦中。

Born in Ashiya ciy, Hyogo, Japan. Hiroshi Tanaka is my name, while T, T. Tanaka (tokyotowertanaka) has been my nickname since my childhood due to my tall figure. I began photography influenced by my father at seven years old. More than forty countries I have traveled. I was awarded in contests including JPS, General Photographic Exhibition, CAPA and DCM. My activities are based on the philosophy, “Beauty lives in our daily life”.
I have published photo books, 『ENCOUNTERS I』which are all made of awarded works, 『ENCOUNTERS II ( Nebraska) 』, 『ENCOUNTERS III (Greenland) / IV ( Ukraine) 』, 『ENCOUNTERS V(Guadeloupe-Carib) / VI (Latvia) / VII (Taiwan) 』, 『ENCOUNTERS VIII (Pakistan) 』. ENCOUNTERS are also unique as photobook to be enjoyed easily by a variety of people. Nikkei Newspaper selected ENCOUTERS as Beautiful Books in 2019 and 2022.
Since 2017, I have exhibited my works in Japan every year. In 2018 exhibition of my works was held in Ukraine, while UATV broadcast special TV program “Touchpoint” about T. T. Tanaka’s art and activities (15’). In the slum area of Pakistan I offered classes to children collaborated with JICA in 2018. Other activities in Florida, USA and Latvia.
This year I have held special exhibitions/slide-talks of “ENCOUNTERS Ukraine in peaceful time” at National Olympic Center in Tokyo, Scout Association of Japan, PEACE DAY, Fuji Sacred Heart School, etc.
I collaborated with a composer / pianist to rediscover Akishima city, western part of Tokyo. I held slide talks In Oota-no-sato, community center at Nachikatsuura in Wakayama, and in hospitals including a palliative care unit in Okayama city.
I also contribute as photographer/essayist to monthly column, “Travel is ENCOUNTERS” in the fashion/travel webmagazine, “Container” (anna magazine) where six Azores stories were originally included, and for weekly Take-a-break photo column in e-letter for Medical staff a hundred times since 2020.
