巨大な色のはっきりしたバッタでした。
ぶんと飛んできてデッキのてすりに止まったのですが、さかさまに。
僕たちと違って血は下がらないんだよね……
はるか向こうまで大湿地帯。
むーっとした重たい空気と、ギシギシと賑やかな虫の声が
今でも耳に残っています。

Topsy-turvy
A gigantic, brightly colored grasshopper
has landed on the trail of the deck.
It is sitting there, perfectly comfortable upside-down.
Unlike us, its blood won’t flow to its head.
The great marsh reaches out to the horizon.
I will never forget the heavy feel of that air.
The insect’s raspy voice still lingers in my ear.
